The following information is not first-hand, or even second hand, so take it with a grain of salt.
I heard (and believe) that it was a mutual decision based on the prospect of arriving with less than a full field. Yes, the money being offered was good, and yes, last years edition produced standing-room crowds, good racing and happy fans. Even the competitors considered that weekend to be the high point of the 2011 season.
Speaking only for my little team; I was all gung-ho for the adventure, and was going to make the trip no matter what. I have never seen either track and was looking forward to giving them a go.
I also heard (and also believe) that the door is open at the out-of-state tracks for when we can produce enough traveling racers to make a good solid field.

I think that has been the case forever...but since when is TBARA a "traveling" series??? It has never really been one because most local racers still work for a living and it's extremely difficult to travel.
From what I saw of the purse before it was removed, factoring in the travel costs, it was nothing special.
Pounder, now you are just looking for things to complain about.
Each purse was about double what we are used to, and we had back-to-back shows. The top spots increased around 20% (going by memory), so most in the increase was in the middle and end of the field. For example, last place would have paid $500+ on each night; better than what most stock cars get to win.
The Sprint cars are not run regularly at any track in Florida...they race different tracks all season long (and have forever). When there is no "home", everything is an "away"'race.... therefore, a "traveling"'series. Doesn't mean you have to leave the state to be a traveling series.
TBRA is a racing club. They hold elections and havedone so for many years. (over 40) at least. Im sure someone will tell us for sure.
I was a member for a few years and have many friends that have been and still are.
The chalange has ben to get the grope to agree to anything.
There are a good grope of sprint racers in the state but they do not agree on anything.
I have been there and dont blame them. Who ever is in power wants to race the way thats best for his team only. The other teams dont suport the club so the car counts suffer.
For years the club ran in tamp and st pete only. They were non wing shows.;The car counts were good.
When the club went to all non wing shows half of the teams went the other way.
Now they have 2 more choices to race with and the cars are split 4 ways.
They will suffer for some time yet

Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

Normally I disagree with you but you are on the money. This glass is half empty, not half full.
BTW, I hope they reorganize and make it...

You are wrong on this. I think you are confusing the past with the present. Maybe it was like this at times in the club's history, but it is not the case now.
Bone man is correct. We all support Buff and the ideas he has for this club. I've raced in this series for ten years now, and I feel the racers are as united as I've ever seen them. It's not Buffs fault not enough racers can afford to go out of town or out of state. Most of us have to try to stay local to be able to afford this. Buff gets those races to give us the opportunity to race more and at a higher level. It's not his fault we are forced to pass up those races due to money. The races are organized, the racers are happy, the cars are being tech'ed properly to ensure a fair playing field, and for once we have sponsors providing money for purses, trophies, and products. You haters have to quit blaming the club because the racers can't afford to travel. At almost every race at our usual tracks we are averaging 15-20 cars, that's better than most regular classes at the tracks. For the TBARA to cancel these shows merely shows responsibility, by protecting our image and not screwing the tracks out of the show they deserve and are paying for.
