      about the age

I'm reading about the incident and the concerns about safety & the vehicle or inspections. And having played sports at a pretty high level, I'm not sure the car, the inspection, or the drivers skill level is the only concern. I beleive you have to evaluate whether the body of these younger children can handle the events & trauma racing can have occur. I have played against younger players with higher skill levels, but their bodies weren't mature enough to compete in physical sports with toughened bodies of older players. I have no idea if this would play into this event, but reading these comments, let's atleast evaluate the age of the drivers & their ability to cope w/ the physical demands of racing at different racing levels.
... we also, pray that Tyler recovers quickly!

I remember Benji Mills telling my son to tighten your belts til it hurts, then tighten them one more. I can only hope that these young drivers have the stength and knowledge to properly buckle in. If there is any question as to strength an adult should cinch them in. There is no margin for error as the physics of an accident is the same regardless. My prayers are with you and yours.

Honestly... just pray for the kid and keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers... I was at Auburndale a few weeks back and the tech official walked around and did safety checks on every car with a full printed out checklist for each and every car... I'm not gonna sit here and blame anyone for the incident... this just proves that even at 35-40 mph things can go bad! It was a very bad situation and nobody wanted to see this happen! The kid is stable and doing better from the reports i've seen and that's all that matters! Its a lil lesson learned to everyone here and that's y you should never take anything for granted... the sport is dangerous no matter what safety precautions you take! Its the risk everyone takes when they strap into a racecar! We should be thanking the lord above and everyone that was involved in helping this kid at the track and at the hospital!!! Get well soon young man and don't let anything stop you from doing what you love to do!!!

im with sean on that i saw alot of facebook post blaming the track .now you can blame the track if it makes you feel better .it was a bad deal that happen but blame would be on anyone who built the car or parents for letting him drive something unsafe.sometimes in the safest car you can still get hurt, its part of racing we all understand.i do my own safety check and if i had a kid racing i would over do safety.i dont need to have someone tell me.i just hope everyone takes a good look at there cars and make sure everything is up to date and looking good.this time we got lucky next time we may not.

I hope for the family foremost and the sport that he makes a good, full recovery and can one day soon take that checkered flag. I am not sure about the condition of the car Sat night but I have seen a photo from before Sat night and the first thing I noticed is no roll bar padding anywhere in sight. I hope that has been fixed and that his injuries have nothing to do with anything that could have been done better. Just my two cents.

The parents must of been ok with the way the car was. If they felt it wasnt safe they wouldnt have put him in. Now i believe the tracks should do a safety check a few times around. HOWEVER the racer/parents should do the check also.
