  • Gate Prices CUT at Bronson Speedway

This week at Bronson Speedway, if you have your email address written on a piece of paper and bring a non-perishable food item, you will be eligible for a $5.00 general admission ticket. All food goods will be donated to the Children's Table Food Pantry.

Are you still charging re-entry if someone goes to the parking lot?

Was talking to a friend last, and kicked around the idea of going up this weekend.... until we remembered the no re-entry policy, and scrapped the whole plan.

I know it ain't much, but between the 2 of us, we'd have spent $40-$50 there. Until this policy goes away, I'm boycotting both Bronson and Desoto.

Great thinking by these promoters.... so worried that their customers might have a beer and a piece of chicken that they didn't buy from the track, that they lost out on some paid admissions. They are also thinking "big deal... we lost 2 sales"..... but there a lot more like me that are out there that aren't vocal about it. They just stay home, or find another form of entertainment.

Got to agree, the no re-entry coupled with not being able to bring a cooler of food and beer in sucks.

          the re-entry thing-----

Maybe if we bring a can of soup, alongside EACH re-entry try, we can still get into the raceway for a zero amount.

Can we do it like that?

And this is why they don't like to post on messageboards, it opens them up to critism from the cheap seats.

Come on Jerry, give it a rest.

If people aren't vocal, it will continue and other track owners will consider the lack of complaints as implicit approval of the policy.

The tracks have to make money. Every dollar that does not come from the grandstands gets put on the back gate. Yea, the back gate where the drivers end up footing the racetrack operations bill. The back gate prices are one of the reasons racing is on a steady decline. Save racing, but a hotdog and a coke at your local track.

Maybe they should allow re-entry to the grandstands but no food or drink brought in. Then they could sell more Doritos to the potheads that like to go out to their car and burn one at intermission.

It's not always about food, drinks, or burning one. Haven't you ever needed a jacket that you didn't think you needed to bring in, but damn glad you had one in the trunk? Ever forgot to bring a camera, or needed to put it away when done using it? Needed to handle a business situation in quiet that you can't get in the grandstand? Got your notebook, but forgot a pen? Spilled a drink and needed to change shirts?

Every one of these has happened in the past to me. There are tons of reasons why the situation could come up... and I won't put myself in that position if I know that the tracks policy won't allow that.

They don't have to worry about people buying a hot dog and a coke if they are not there in the first place. I'm not traveling 2-1/2 hours from home to put myself in that situation.

Tracks should want to know what it takes to get people in the gates. I'm just stating why MY ass won't be. As someone posted above, silence on the matter is basically condoning that policy. I don't agree with it, and it keeps me from coming. In NO WAY can this rule INCREASE your front gate admissions or concession sales.....

It also looks very petty and Jerry is right it really does seem that some track owners are lost.

I still think its all about burning one or drinking beer in the parking lot instead of buying beer at the track. The rest is only a convincing argument.
