Track Promoter: Mike Budka Jr
Race Director: Bill Fisher

Grand opening is May 10th 2008
Racing Starts at 6:30pm
Late Models,Street Stocks,Pure Stocks,Hobby Stocks,and 4 Cylinder Bombers

May 17th 2008
Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks,Hobby Stocks,
Mini Stocks,and 4 cylinder Bombers.

RULES: Same as Ocala Speedway
Street Stock Rules: Currently Working On Them
4 Cylinder Bombers Rules: Currently Working On Them

A Committee of Drivers will be decided at the next meeting for Putnam
Meeting will be held on April 27th 2008 At Putnam County Speedway at 1PM

At that time teams will be able to reserve pit slabs and car numbers as well as get rules and
general info.Sat.May 3rd will be Media Day at the track as well as a BBQ. Hope to see and meet
everyone then!!

Have them run on Sunday late afternoons, that way we have three nights of dirt racing to choose from!

You get a 3rd. from me! I think a 3 night circuit would benefit everyone in the area.

Utica-Rome Speedway in NY runs a late Sunday afternoon show that starts at 5:00 and is over by about 9-10:00, and everyone is on there way home. They get a great field and a huge crowd.

The idea has merit... and besides, PCS wasn't exactly setting the world on fire on Saturdays.

Also.... a sincere GOOD LUCK to Mike Budka (aka Shiloh64 on Karnac), whose family has long been involved in racing in NY state. Anything I can do to help, let me know Mike!

Another success story was Nazareth Pa with their twi light Sunday shows. Pits at 3:00 warm-ups at 4:00 racing at 5:00 with a 9:00 pm curfew and they made it 99% of the time. A lot of Sundays where SRO at a place that held 5,500 people.

MESSAGE FROM BILL FISHER on 4/23/08

I have received quite a few calls and e-mails,with several excellent questions,and requisites for employment at Putnam,I will address as follows

1.The street stock rules are being formed at this time,I do not know if they will be limiteds,sportsman,or the old style street stocks.

2. The $200 is not just for a pit slab,but it will entitle you to a reduced pit entry fee,for the driver only!! It also gets you a reduced ticket price for the end of year party,or banquet.

3.The 500 tire is the tire we will run only,there is absolutely no reason to have 8 wheels and tires,to run 2-3 tracks.

4.I would suggest to anyone who is seeking employment at Putnam,come to Sundays meeting,bring a resume',or a short work history,everyone who applies will be considered,there will be several positions offered.Any more questions bring them to the meeting.

There is a church a half mile from the track,so Sundays may not be possible.

There's a cemetary right next door to 5-Flags... doesn't keep them closed. BUT, out of respect, they do shut down all engines and P.A. sytems during funeral ceremonies.

How many churches are still doing their thing at 3:00 PM on Sundays? Don't know, just wondering.

Well, not to be rude. But why try the same thing the last three owner/managers have tried? Why not try to do something different? If you run on Saturday nights (which I am sure they are going to) you compete with Volusia, North florida, and to some extent, Golden Isles. Instead, why not run on a night no one runs. You can still pull your local faithfuls, as well as a handful from 5 other tracks. I guess I am just nuts, but I think outside of the box.
