Gotcha... didn't know if it sat for a year or two. If it had, this might be just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to leaks.

Don't the engine builders have some kind of warranty for leaks? Cleaned properly, with the correct gaskets, and proper torque, this shouldn't happen this quickly.

some kind of warranty for leaks?

Its no big deal. I've got it apart so we'll find it tonight. One was an error by who ever installed the engine, and I'm sure we'll locate the other.

Looking forward to the next one at De Soto!

Just a thought here... if you reversed the process of sealing a leak, by pressurizing rather than vacuuming, wouldn't that expose a leak without having to fire the motor?

It leaks on deceleration which means as the oil sloshes to the front of the engine it finds the hole. I'm thinking make sure the oil level is full, lift the rear of the car to force the oil forward, and pressurize the system slightly...
I did this on my sportsman car years ago and found the front seal over the crank(timing cover) was leaking. You don't have one though.
          Good luck with it Bone.

Rex Back in my day we'd clean the oil off as best as we could and wrap a Kotex around it. That worked almost all the time. For 1 race any way...
