  • Harry Pullen

Found out just a few weeks ago that Harry Pullen had passed away... He was a terror on the Central Florida tracks for a long time before moving to Oklahoma in the mid-70s... He was probably one of the more aggressive drivers of his day and many of the cars he drove were owned by Mickey Johnson... Harry's older brother (now passed as well) Charlie also raced in the 50s and early 60s and younger brother Henry raced into the 1980s and was extremely successful winning in about six different classes over the years... I believe he lives in Jacksonville now...
    Some old Harry Pullen pictures:

    1) 1957 at Eau Gallie Speedway
    2) Early 1960s probably at Orlando
    3) With the Finchum Brothers Ford at Orlando... This car was a top runner...
    4) 1967 Win at Orlando with flagman Rosebud Flower
    5) Before David Rogers began driving, Harry wheeled the John Rogers Chevelle at Volusia before he moved from Florida

Most of his cars were butt ugly his favorite color was flat black. I remember him at Eau Gallie for the smell of his exhaust, it smelled very much like shoe polish but his jimmies could run right with the fords. He bult one nice looking gold 19 but stuck it in the wall avoiding a driver who got out of his wrecked car in front of Harry. Many fond memories of that entire clan. Once again good genes.
