  • Richmond finish

Once again Nascar put me to sleep before the end. Was the final yellow flag a real on track issue for debris of consequence or another ruse to set up some semblence of more than one or two cars in the vicinity of each other at the finish. On another note it seemed to me that after the nationwide race the Busch brothers actually showed some humility and honest respect for what it takes to be a winner.

Final debris caution was bullshit as usual. Tony Stewart was pissed off about it, Carl Edwards got screwed (somewhat) on a jumping the re-start penalty, Jimmy Johnson got a pit violation penalty, which was very clear.... lots of twists and turns in that race.

Several things kept the race interesting, but these phantom cautions just plain suck. Nascars complete lack of consistency is showing their total lack of credibility. Too much manipulation towards the outcome of races.

Take Daytona for example.... if anyone that was a NAME driver had been leading when the jet dryer blew up, it would have been all over at that point. But, no-name Dave Blaney was leading, and NASCAR just couldn't let THAT happen, so they finish the race on a melted track that the drivers admitted wasn't safe to race on. They would rather risk the drivers safety, than to risk their own reputation.

Sad but true and I think a Blaney win would have been a very good human interest story for the little guy. One also wonders what role the quality of the sponsor makes in some of these decisions. I didn,t get into wrestling because it was coreographerd and it may end up being why I boycot Nascrap.
