From Bruce Harp over on FaceBook:
"Please keep Billy Gill in your prayers. Heard he had a stroke this weekend."
Billy (Bobby's dad, for those of you that didn't know) was a *hard* racer. he was *real* old-school; if you leaned on him, he'd lean right back. Most of you will probably remember him in the Otis Electric orange #24 Chevelles and Camaros; but, Billy started driving our car in about '79. He won a few features for us at Bradenton the year it opened (in '79) and over at St. Pete. I remember him winning a feature for us at Sunshine with the entire left side of the car unpainted - all in "aluminum".
Here's a picture of Billy in our car, leading the feature at Bradenton with Pletcher in the Mitton 21 and Dickie in a Hanley car he had just bought.
Get well soon, Billy. We're prayin' for ya.
