  • More new rules fun fun

Looks like we get to throw away all our msd boxes and wiring coils ect and buy Crane stuff to make Ricky Brooks happy. Why??? MSD has worked great for years and years I really don,t want to pitch all the MSD stuff in every car we have. How much more of this money saving stuff can we stand?
    The money comes and goes.
The trophy we get to keep.

"If you own a late model, you should be able to afford whatever we throw at you".... As was once told to me by a well known promoter... And everyone wonders why things are in the state they are in....

        well.....

This is what happens when a few people want to go running their mouths that there are "cheated up cars" and tech needs to be stricter to catch 'em.

People should be careful what they wish for because - here it is!

        Nuff said.

Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

Jerry, I wish to exercise my 5th ammendment rights on that one.. With that being said, you win by default.. Usual bet is good, however as you know flagstaff is pretty hard to find in my cooler, so you will have to settle for a 33 degree bud light!

I believe the reason is that the MSD boxes can be cheated up and the Crane boxes can't. I think I bought my Crane for $300+ when my MSD failed last year, I called Ricky and asked him what to buy and the crane is what he told me. I hate to say it but that is half of a set of tires and should last you a few seasons. In late model racing I don't think that is a big deal in the grand scheme of things. You guys seam to whine about making things fair, then they make a rule change to make things fair and you bitch and moan about how much its going to cost. Well which one do you want? I don't have excess money to sped nor do I want to spend money for no reason, just playing devils advocate here. To be honest I haven't read or heard of this anywhere but they hired Ricky to keep things honest...well its like exnyer said, you wanted it you got it. At least the racing will be fair, to me thats worth $300.

I don't have a dog in this fight (Thankfully), and I know that this particular rule change is not huge money...But all rule changes cost money, and it seems like they are ALWAYS going on across the spectrum of racing in Florida, and I don't think it is healthy for racers to have to shelve good equipment that still has life in it, on a VERY regular basis that's all...
When it comes to asphalt LM's, over the last 10 years the engine rules have either changed all together, or they have changed the weight configurations to make one engine more advantageous than others many, many times..
I also wasn't making a statement as much about a single particular rule as much as I was trying to make a statement about the attitude of SOME of the "leadership" in Florida short track racing...
