  • TIRE IMPOUND UPDATE - Bright House Challenge / Pro Late Models Challenge

FASCAR Officials announced today that effective immediately, there will no longer be a Tire Impound for the Bright House Challenge Series - Super Late Model 100 lap races or the Pro Late Models 100 Lap Challenge Series races.

There will be a Car Impound for both the Bright House Challenge Series - Super Late Models and the Pro Late Models 100 Lap Challenge Series immediately following Qualifying for each event.

“We hope this change will allow more teams to take part in these races without the added expense of mandatory tire purchases” said Terry Roberts, FASCAR General Manager. “FASCAR still has an explicit ‘NO-SOAK’ policy that will continue to be strictly enforced.”

The next Pro Late Models 100 Lap Challenge Series race will be Saturday April 28, 2012 followed by the Bright House Challenge Series - Super Late Models on Saturday May 5, 2012 at New Smyrna Speedway.

This change will not affect the Florida Governor’s Cup 200 in November as that is no longer a Bright House Challenge Series event.

this should bring atleast 1 or 2 more cars. still making the pro lates buy 10 gal of fuel? What is someone with a crate motot to do with 10 gal of race fuel.
lets all take a long ride on a short bus.

I quit fishing because no one was standing at the docks handing out money when i got back, why did you quit racing?

wow. I don't own a late model though I have driven one in the past. My first thought was "cool, no more of the aggrevating tire impound for those guys!" but no, they impound the whole car!?!? really? you can't work on it where your tools are? what's the deal?
