  • How to run a track part 2

The other thread sounded more like a fan perspective. Let's get a businessman's perspective............Ready...........GO!

    1. Higher car count. Remember most weekly show cars are local drivers.
    2. Higher fan count
    3. Larger purses
    4. Higher concession sales
    5. Concession menu
    6. Teching racecars
    7. Keeping the cost down for car owners
    8. Promoting weekly shows
    9. Advertising
    10. Type of racecars.

The rules are, you can't close either track, neither track can be converted to dirt, and limited revenue expenses.

C'mon Nerone........i know you learned at least 2 things while running tracks.

PS, all i can do is post the thread because i don't know how to run or promote a successful facility.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

    1. Higher car count. Remember most weekly show cars are local drivers.
Call the owner/driver talk to the every week on what is going on at your track in thre class. Set rules and payout and follow them 100%

    2. Higher fan count
Have promotion of buy one get one free ticket or discount tickets or even maybe give out free tickets a empty seat bring bring nothing in the front door can't sell any food or beer if the seat is empty???? Now if you have 100 free people in the seat you sell food and beer.

    3. Larger purses
With having good car count and filling your grandstands full you can pay bigger purses. It all goes hand to hand

    4. Higher concession sales
Have a special each week and keep prices at a fair price.

    5. Concession menu
Just have a real good menu that is avg size and good food.
Have what your fans like. Take a poll ask the the fans.

    6. Teching racecars
Have a good set of rules and follow your rule for each driver the same way.

    7. Keeping the cost down for car owners
Get the best deal you can on fuel/tires etc and pass it on to the Car owners

    8. Promoting weekly shows
Put race cars out at business on display/ Have discount ticket that can be handed out. Use Karnac. facebook /twitter so mnay other many other free promoting you can doe also.

    9. Advertising
Tv/ radio/ papers /flyers /Billboards/ facbook/ U Tube so many free ways to get the work out.

    10. Type of racecars.

All type of race cars have differnet classes each week to keep fans coming back.

Running a race track is running a business it not a hobby you have got to work at getting the fans there and racecars if one thing does not work try another way till it does work fulling the stand and the pits.
