    ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD
    Friday April 20, 2012 SPORTSMAN 50
    50 Laps $1000.00 to win!

Hey Phil, doesn't seem to be much interest, wonder if the track will do any promoting. Would love to see a good turnout. For $1000 to win you would think it would generate some interest providing people find out about it.

Not sure about who Phil is, but you would think it would peak some driver's interest.

Rules are not much different anymore, infact Brandon Morris won the feature race last friday night, then changed the gear and raced Citrus the following night.

looks like citrus rules are pretty close if you run the 602 crate. but citrus motor rules are more open. Not sure how you have a 602 crate in the rules runnning against 400's, vortec, and rhs heads though.

No other track has a scheduled sportsman race scheduled for friday (that i know of) so lets bring them all out and go back to having a good time racing.

funny how everyone seems to think that a 602 cant run with a built motor. ive seen atleast 2 cars with the crate motor win at NSS, a track that according to most of you "requires a big motor and nothing els". So why would it be a such a big deal to try to run one at a track like citrus or orlando where "you dont need a big motor".
lets all take a long ride on a short bus.

I quit fishing because no one was standing at the docks handing out money when i got back, why did you quit racing?

My bet is a 602 crate motor car will end up winning this race, lets look at the people running them.

                            Aaron Williamson
                            Brandon Morris
                            Chad Pierce
                            Justin Reynolds
                            Scott Garrity
                            Michael Seay
                            and oh yeah Me.

I'm sure there are doubters about whether or not these motors have a place in local racing, but let me tell you why I have chosen to run a crate motor.

In 2004 i had a motor built for the Southern Sportsman Series, It cost me $7,500.00 and it was a strong motor, not always the best but in the top 3 or 4 down the straightaways.

In 2007 I bought my first crate motor, I showed up to Orlando Speedworld and hated it. I mean I said it was the biggest piece of junk I had ever driven. Then my crew handed me the note pad with times on it for all the cars running including mine. Holy crap I was the fastest on the list, now how could that be? Lets think about this the race track is 3/8th's of a mile in length, we run about 15 second laps, we are on the straightaways for about 6 seconds a lap, that leaves 9 second's of time that we are turning, and not able to use all the throttle. You do the math.

I paid $3,100.00 for my crate motor, and about $1,000.00 for the carb. To go faster than I had ever gone at Orlando Speedworld before. It was then a no brainer for me, I am a crate motor guy to this day..........
