Like dd38, I believe it is a Fascar problem. Before Fascar and the Hart's, we had 30+ cars in the bombers every week. They split them up to bomber a and bomber b to help ontrack. You cannot run a racetrack in fear. Bold and extravagant does have it's place.

I am pretty much out of the area, and a little unsure what the traffic is like now. 25 Years ago, it was horrible and we had good car counts then. Exception was late models and that is mostly about money.

A lot of people have gotten pissed at Fascar and even when the problem was remedied, they did not come back.

Too many classes. Mini stocks with 8k+ motors. Late model with modified bodies and two different power plants. One version useing a superstock or crate engine. Three different late model classes. The strictly stock guy and girls are forking out their own money to race for a trophy. The super stocks have also lost cars. Still not sure what a sportsman is suppose to be(don't get offended sportsman teams and drivers)Tech everything equally not just the"it doesn't sound legal" version of teching cars.

They ran two B mains for them. Started 26 in the feature. I think they ran the first 10 laps caution free and then they realized there was a full moon.

Was there any pre-race promotion (press release etc.) this week - NO
Any type of publicity at all - NO
Is there anyone doing this type of work on a regular basis - NO
Anything going on to enhance the show like some kind of pre-race promotion or something fun for the fans to do other than get an over-priced hot dog - NO
Until the ownership actually gives a crap about their facility, no one including Butch, Barbara, any other employee, Jesse Jackson, The Pope or ZZ Top can really do anything...

You are right there Dave and you and I know it. I remember a time when we did a pre-race release and a post race release and gave the people something to actually see on paper what was going on. Just sending out or posting on your own site the results does not tell anyone about the action that went on. Years ago when Hank was the announcer and hated to write, he would come to me and ask me would I please write a story for him because he said he was so busy announcing that he really didn't write down any notes and he knew I did. I gladly did this for Hank and gave it to him to use.

Race tracks have very low budgets and maybe writing is not included in that budget anymore but there are some tracks that do not believe that and always send out at least a post-race story - Bubba Raceway, Eastbay, Five Flags just to name a few. Even Carol at Auburndale does her best to get something other than results out for them.

When Dick W. ran Orlando and I wrote back then for Orlando and Florida Today, we once had a two page story in the paper with color photos that he was so proud of and so were the racers. And sometimes the paper would have me profile different Brevard racers for the paper but even Steve Smith knows this one, the papers cut their budgets, the stories were cut and there was nothing of local racing.

When I posted results this weekend on my website from alot of different tracks, I was happy to see alot of old names that raced at Orlando back then but have now left for one reason or another but they are still racing. I am not saying they left because the stories quit but they also enjoyed the stories.

I admit that I can no longer just write for free as I did for many, many years but I don't charge that much either and I do pre-race and post-race stories and don't short change anyone. Maybe you and I are dinosaurs now Dave in this area but I do know that the short tracks that are working and pulling cars, do put out press and in a small way, that does help.

Do I want to see Orlando be another track gone south, HECK NO. But something is not working anymore and things have got to change before we see a Super Target or Home Depot where SpeedWorld was. I love that track, have always loved that track, and don't want to see that happen.

Do you think anyone wants to watch hot laps? Why do the fast cars start in the front? If there was a first time viewer in the stands, chances are they won't be back. OSW NEEDS TO PUT ON A BETTER SHOW.

The super stock race was really good, saw lots of respect, some leaning and a lot of passing. This is what people want to see.

                  Four car sportsman race, SUCKED
Strictly stock race was ok, not great but not bad.

                  Didn't stay for the mods
the way things are now....we have a whole group of NEW CROP DRIVERS that have won races, but have never passed a car......is it fun to win if you start up front? I dont think so,but to them a win is a win. They say let's go to NNS and OSW ....we can say we won,we dont have to say there where only 4 cars.....oh and by the way I'm leading the points!
