A clearification: other posters suggested calling ALL the racers and spending 25 hours a week on this. My original suggestion is to contact only the teams that were competing in recent years or months, but who are not running now. Spend time on the ones who can be convinced (remember, some racers are always looking for excuses), and who can benefit the show.

It doesn't make any sense to contact everyone who is racing now. At the track tell them "hi, glad to see you", and let them get to the business of racing.

      U R right!

Linda and Kevin call all our drivers. I talk to lots of drivers and they all think its great when they get a call. Many reasons why. Start off with. Hi...this is ___ from ___ speedway. I dont have alot of time to chat right now but wanted to call and extend a welcome to you to race at _____ on ..... then tell them if they want to chat to call at _____ and you will take time out for them. find out if they want a slab etc. while on the phone... it saves another call and time.
welcome their new babies, congrats on weddings or wins, and condolences... it gives a personal touch and makes them more responsive. also keeps the complaints down. ;-) plenty of those huh?
without our drivers whats the sense?

There are more asphalt cars around Speedworld than dirt cars. They just for whatever reason aren't running. Already picked back 1 asphalt racer who switched to dirt last year and now has come back to asphalt with the demise of volusia. Besides dirt is for growing watermellons.

My point about dirt isnt a fight to wich is better,I just think its possible OSS has ran its course.Im, Crash A Rama brings in a LOT of peaple.Dirt again would be a NEW BUZZ.You would bring in NEW racers and some that race around FL.
To me OSS is at a point to make drastic changes. It would be neat for a short track w banking thats dirt in C.FL.

Well, the big problem with switching to dirt would be the weekly cost of track preparation and clean-up... They don't spend any money taking care of the place now other than general clean-up... At least the water seepage problem would be a good thing if it was dirt though LOL
