David Rogers fastest in practice

31 cars at 5 Flags today. A few of our locals are up there, and Rogers is quickest going into qualifying.

Choquette had quick time last night in Mobile, while Chase Elliott won the feature.

Track is quicker for qualifying. After 12 cars, they've picked up from 2 to 6 1/10th faster. Bubba on pole so far.

Choquette 2nd after 17 cars. grant Enfinger just bumped into 3rd.

Bubba has the pole, followed by Choquette, Grant Enfinger, Chase Elliott and Josh Hamner

Our locals, beside Choquette, took a beatin'. Rogers dropped from quickest I practice, to 16th. Ben Kennedy from 13th down to 20th, Sergi from 21st to 27th and Jett from a respectable 17th to a lousy 30th out of 31.

The inversion came up an 8, which puts Mike Garvey and Augie Grill on the front row. Choquette and Pollard roll off 7th and 8th.

And Rogers is out...just a handful of laps in.

Pile up on lap 9. Lots of cars, including Rogers involved. Davids car needed the roll back truck. Lots pretty torn up. That's 2 cars in a year he lost in Pensacola.

Choquette takes the lead on lap 68. Only a few to go and Elliott is all over him.

Once again denied..... Elliott gets by on lap 96, and holds off Choquettet for the win.

It seems I've heard the term "over-rated" around here somewhere. I'm pretty sure that his Derby win, and several others have proven this kid does have a boatload of talent, and not just Daddy's money (well, Hendricks money now too).

Also something that isn't real common knowledge... Chase and Ben Kennedy are teammates this year. Both of their short track cars come out of Kennedy's shop, while both of their K&N Series cars come out of Elliotts.
