Is that a Thursday morning...??? Seems hard for most folks to support, although it's probably more of a dog & pony show for the local politicians.... and a fun day for them, while we pay their salaries...!

What's wrong with the dog and pony show, If it wasn't for the local POLITICIANS pulling some strings to open the old JEWEL back up, Showtime would be a dream,. instead of a reality. IF they want there time, so be it.

I would of liked to attend, just don't understand why you only give people two days notice and hold it in the middle of a work day. Imagine the people that would of attended if it had been promoted longer, and held on a Saturday.....just sayin.

Nothing wrong with doing something with the local politicians.... it's probably a VERY good thing. I was just saying (sarcastically, but I guess it didn't come across this way), was that this event was not done for fans as much as it is for "insiders", for lack of a better phrase.

I'm sure Yoho will make some other day and time that is completely dedicated to the racers and fans he wants to be part of Showtime Speedway.

Racers aren't politicians, and politicians aren't racers.... but it would be pretty cool if he can get lots of support from the people in PinellasnCounty that pull the big strings.

Pinellas Park, FL. - Robert & Danielle Yoho, new owners of the old Sunshine Speedway property has scheduled the Ground Breaking celebration for both SHOWTIME Speedway and SHOWTIME Drag Strip for 10:30AM, Thursday, March 15 at the Speedway complex.

Pinellas Park Mayor William F. "Bill" Mischler and Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri will be on hand to speak to a group of eager racers, fans and community business owners, whom will all be on hand for the kick-off celebration.

"I have had twenty or thirty calls about bring race cars, drag cars and go-karts out for the event, I hope they all come. Every racer, fan and family member should take a day off work and let the community, and public in general, know that this deal has more support than anyone ever suspected," stated an optimistic Robert Yoho.

the heck with facebook. if its about racing and worth anything its worth putting on a racing site. someone needs to think about the old people that have been around racing alot longer then the age of the rich people who invented facebook and who do not want to mess with facebook. this is free to get the word out and they don't want to use it. I got to think about that one.

My computer has picked up a virus 2 times from face book. Never happened here. Plus that, this is where most all the news about Florida racing is about. And it's free too. Bronson doesn't seem to be fairing too well just by using face book. If I had any info from them I might be interested in maybe running my car there some time.
