  • Modern racers are too scared to race 2-wide

    How about trying THIS some night!

    If you look real close, that's Ron McCreary starting outside of row 34 (by choice, of course).

        Man, you got that right! Reminds me of the Buckman Bridge going home EVERY DADBURN NIGHT. Florida drivers are such idiots. If a guy is pulled over for a ticket, everyone SLOWS DOWN just to see what's going on.....sheeeeeesh.

        I-4 in Orlando, I-95 in Jax.....geeez...it's getting insane. The only stress I endure everyday is the commute back and forth to work. They need to stop handing out wreckless driving tickets and start charging people with attempted murder. Same damn thang.

        <end rant here>

        okay.....I'm better now......what were we talking about?

          Did anyone notice that there are more cars on the track than there are fans in the stands..........and it ain't no asphalt track either.......SAD

            I would guess the reason for no one in the stands is because there're working in the pits.

                Why would they need fans in the stands?? Each driver paid a $1,000 entry fee plus $25 to get into the pits... They are racing for a trophy and a free keg of beer...
                What you are actually looking at is part of the heyday of California Jalopy Racing... believe it or not, guys like Parnelli Jones got their start doing this stuff.. It was like a demo derby on wheels and led to some of the first ever figure 8 racing... Dick Wallen has some video of this type of racing that you can still purchase I believe...
