Does anyone know where I can find driver lineup or finishing order of the 50's Daytona races? My grandfather raced a couple of these but I don't remember the year. He passed a couple of years ago so I don't have a lot to go on.

His name was Jesse Sumner and sometimes went under Gerald Sumner.

This website has the most extensive racing history I have ever come across. Get ready to waste some hours if you go there though. http://www.ultimateracinghistory.com/index.htm

If he raced grand national Greg Fielden's book on the first forty years of NASCAR is one place and it covers all races not just Daytona. If he raced modified-sportsman you will need the help of anouncer Dave and the Daytona archives. The other alternative is old programs as they always had the previous years results.

I can tell you there is no Gerald or Jesse Sumner listed in any Daytona Beach auto races that I can tell... If he entered a race but DNQ or DNS, he probably won't be listed... I can look for more but really need a year, race and car #...
