Interesting, I hope this works. It could prove interesting. I could see a few possible long term issues if it was for late models and more money. OK racers, get those expensive shocks and special 2 barrels and see how well you do against the cheaper setups.
Seriously, Good luck to you on this John. First Florida promoter with an original idea in a long time.

when the statment was made that it was his first time in that car it did not mean that was his first race. He has been driving super late models for the past 6 years. He has also raced with some of the the drivers that where at that track in other classes. He started out in go carts and worked his way up. So when they came to him and said they needed a driver he said ok. He had every right to start where he did.He was one of the fastest cars on the track at practice and he finished 2nd in the heat race. As for the fight he was not the one that took the first swing he was going to ask the 73 what was his deal the 73 was the one to take the first swing. the kid that was in the 10 car that night has a lot of respect for other drivers. He knows what it takes and what it cost to build and race cars. His family has been doing it for over 50 years. I also know that he has more respect in his little finger then a lot of other drivers do. Yes some of the statments made have made me a little upset because he is a good person and the last thing he wants to do is damage any car that he is driving because he does know what it takes to fix it.

There is a big difference between a scratch and driving into the side of you on the front stretch at the flag stand stuffing you into the wall.

In most cases this is true but I was speaking of my own account of racing with these guys.

Didn't this group tear up some cars last year at Citrus?

It's this attitude that keeps the little guy from competing and, imo, is one reason good clean racing doesn't exist in Florida. Generally, this type of racing isn't allowed in the northeast, which is why these guys are probably racing here. (Granted it exists there more than it use to.) What you're describing is what we call a demolition derby where I came from. When Earnhardt made the statement "rubbin is racin", he was making an excuse. Someone decided to adopt that attitude and make it acceptable. It didn't use to be. There is and always has been incidental contact in racing. Now days it seems acceptable to some to make intentional contact legal. Why not do what they do in England and design the cars like tanks and race like the roller derby with blockers and all? Take the damn fenders off, put on some small 2 bar bumpers, and some big tires, go to a dirt track and learn to race like a real racer. If you make contact then, you're apt to end up in the stands.

How "cheated up" are they? What do they have that's illegal? Just wondering.

Geekers BB493, how do you know that "These guys have a lot more motor than..." 355 cubes? Did you measure any? Do you have an In-Cylinder Linear Displacement measuring device? I though not. I believe you're just shooting off your mouth because your guys can't keep up.
