there is a super late model race tomorrow at OSW. I am 15 minutes from the track in a town full of Yankee snowbirds that love racing. A little promoting for my beloved local track would be nice.

You are right Ed, its been very quiet regarding Speedworld. Gotta be a little critical of my home track, but the only thing I've heard about all year has been the antique nationals.

I've seen only one announcement (on Facebook maybe?), and that was about the return of Bandoleros and Legends to the weekly show.

Who is running the track this year? Is there a promoter?

I am taking a car out Friday, and "The Secret Weapon" returns to the drivers seat after a one year absence.

You guys are SO RIGHT... I had no idea at all the season opener was this week... Haven't seen any promotion of this at all... I even saw Tim Cordell (Tim's Automotive - wrecker operator for FASCAR) last Saturday and he stated he wasn't sure when the new season started. I HOPE SOMEONE TELLS HIM!! LOL
Guess I need to hurry and get ready... Since Ricky Brooks declared my K-Car illegal for the SLM class because it doesn't meet the ABC body rules (plus it does not fit his "proper pretty paint job" requirements), I have put together a new Bandolero. I have abandoned using the Briggs & Stratton engine though and am using a new engine called the Half-Hambone. This is a Volvo 4-stroke engine cut in half and the same engine Jaques Strappe of France used to win the 2009 Riding Lawn Mower class at the Pikes Peak Hill climb...
I'm trying to get Dave Dion to come out of retirement to drive it...

Its almost like OSW has been rolled out in the weeds and left to die. I would love to see it get turned around.

It is a Bright House race this Friday and God willing, I will be there to write it for Florida Dirt Track News and anyone else who would like to have the story. Don't remember how I knew about it but I did. And Barbara Pierce is the Track Manager but as far as PR, I think Mark does that right now. But I am sure there will be more than 3 Super Lates and I look forward to seeing alot of my old friends in the pits.

I remember that I used to send out press releases in advance for about two weeks before the season started... guess times have changed... Of course a lot of the papers etc. I used to send stuff to are out of business now... Let's hope things get turned around economy-wise before OSW goes the way of so many others... We definitely need something to happen in Brevard County now that the Shuttle program is ipso-facto... OSW got well over half its racers and fans out of Brevard for so long...

I have been talking it up on Facebook so it looks like I know one person who is not a fan of my photography!! Actually two since I know DD is not on there either.

Yep we started covering asphalt also last year. We have all the Florida dirt track, asphalt tracks, national dirt news, national asphalt news and whatever else comes out. And we have photo galleries also. Just no forum or message board for now. Am thinking about that one and what I really want to do. Kept off trash talking for sure but got 10,000 people wanting to advertise stupid stuff that had nothing to do with racing and spent way too much time not allowing them to post. But we got all the news and then some.
