  • Price of Tickets

A friend called me and is comming from the north with his kids for vacation. He said the disney world tickets for the week that he will be down here for are $800.
Now the point is why would you think that the ticket price at a short track is to high. The track ticket has not gone up in the last 5 years. Gas rent food and everything is on the rise but the race ticket has gone down..Wouder why the tracks arent doing so well.
They had to lower there ticket price and everything cost more for them to operate the track. Now there are less people atending. Its got to be a tough climb up hill for them.
Try to help them buy getting people back to the track and away from free races on TV. I got to see a mexican in a hotrod crash a jet for free and that is hard to beat

lol at the jet. That is hard to beat. But one thing I have noticed is that the tracks don't do any advertising. As I have said in past posts, the is too much for people to do entertainment wise and they don't know about short tracks. There is no other place for the price and the excitement. Run ads in the local newspaper, it's cheap. You would be surprised at the turnout from running an ad during the week.

Yep thats right. The low cost adds are the best for the $. a add in the newspaper is big money $400 for a small ad so we would buy a $15 ad in the classifieds that would say..looking for race fans $10.00 Orlando Speedworld...Every rag papper had a add in it and all the trade tickers that the radio stations would take..
Rember the guy Pual in Ocala..He did a mailing with free tickets to new race fans buy zipp codes. I was allwase pissed that i didnt think of that one..
Now we are talking what a promoter does to make it not what coller the papper is in the bathrooms is.

Trever you rember riding in the bus with your dad at the speedway.
The coustmers though it was tyo far to walk so we got a bus and got the info why they came and when it was over what they thought of the races.

I have offered to post information on my website for New Smyrna, Orlando Speedworld, Auburndale and etc. I have only gotten news and info from Barbara Pierce of Orlando Speedworld And Carol Andrews of Auburndale. I have contacted Mark Keeler and Terry Roberts several times. The last 2 times that I have contacted Terry Roberts he has told me that he was going to have a meeting with Mark Keeler and get back with me. He still has not called me back. I first sent email to Terry Roberts on 12/14/2012. These are the people that are paid to support the track. If the word does not get out people will loose intrest and racing and it will slowly dwindle down to nothing.

Yes, I do! It was lettered and everything. Little white, short bus. Old as hell, but got the job done. Of course, Lakeland had a HUGE parking area. It was a long way..

Mr Nerone. You are wrong. A website does help. If people get home on a Friday night or Saturday night and missed the race for that night they want to see who won the race, points etc.. The internet is the future of advertisement. There are a lot of people that come over from Europe and other countries that "tpye in= Florida racing, asphalt racing etc" to search for races to go to. How do I know this? I have a report done by godaddy and it shows location for searches. So by getting on here and saying that it does not work is BS. If you have that attitude then you are like the others. You are the people that should give up racing and go watch Mickey Mouse. THe sport will die if there is no advertisement and negativity from racing promoters and others like you. Support any way you can before its too late.

Neg from me? I was not neg i said that the internet racing board adv wasent worth much for finding new fans ..Also as you said the fan can see who won if he doesent go.. If he doesent go, the track will go out of busines.
DA!! the people that come over from other countries?? boy your digging now. How about the 3 mil that live in orlando and the 100,000 people that go see micky and the 50 fans the track have..Advertise to the 3 mil not the 50.Dont waste your time here no one is listining to you.
This board is for the diehard short track fan and thats good but dont make it more than it is.
I have seen it, and done it to see who is reading. Gave everyone a free ticket that read the add and 23 people responded. Wake up. Im as much a race fan as anyone and have never been to see micky mouse. And i do read this and other sits like this to see what happend last week so i can stay home and thats one of the things that is wrong...Do not get it>>

Race promoters are lazy. Period. Instead of promoting races they tweak rules and promote tire sales. Get out of the tire businesses and fill your grandstands.

Promoters are not as lazy as they are not in the know when it comes to promoting the tracks. Yeah, there are lazy ones too. There are a lot of dumb ones too. Some are just totally afraid of growing and expanding on whatever it is they have.

If a promoter wants to learn cost effective advertising, watch the real car dealers in the local area.
                              They:
1 do some name recognition advertising and some specific advertising.

2 constantly send mailers and emails to promote any and all events they can figure out that will attract customers.

3 Make sure the customer has a good/great experience when they get there.

If the track promoters would get together, they could do some advertising that would promote racing in general for a vicinity. This would lessen the costs for each, yet reach many more people.

Every business person knows how expensive it is to advertise. There are no secrets about it. It is just hard work.

How much would it cost for a track/team of tracks to get late night ads on cable? NOT MUCH They already have the commercials half made with footage of some of the races.

In my humble opinion, Bubba is doing the best job around with advertising.

You have to build hype and more excitement!

Do some math! If you can't do math, get a local racer that runs to the front because he had to do math to get there.
