Aside from tomorrows Danica 500, another February has come and gone. I love this time of the year, and soak up as much racing as I can. So how were things at the tracks you visited? Were the stands full? Were there enough cars? Good racing? Good times?
This year was very different for me. I raced 3 times in 7 nights, and spectated on two other Feb. nights. Year after year I am a sleep deprived fan who takes in 10-12 shows, but this year I happily took advantage of the chance to race, and of course the spectating took a big hit.
I didn't get around enough to know for myself, so I am anxious to hear from other fans and racers who had a good time. The complaints are easy, but if you have to complain why not add something that went well too?
I had an absolute blast driving the pavement sprint! We had two nights at New Smyrna and one at De Soto. Now I finally know why I got into racing: it was to do something like this class. Yep, I had lots of fun years in mini stocks and other classes, but this is how it should have always been. Maybe one day I'll be competitive at the front of the TBARA, but until then I am certainly enjoying the climb (except for last nights flat!)
Aside from racing 3 nights, I made one trip to BRP for the modifieds and thunder stocks, and a also saw a very good and well attended sprint show at Volusia.
So what about you?
