  • Desoto/Punta Gorda???????

Why in the world would you have a late model race on top of each other in the begaining of the season??? Or any time and just being mile apart from each other. Really is not using good common since.

It would make much business since not to be on top of each other date so you can get more car count to your track for a race.

No wonder short track racing is not doing well in the state of Florida.

Yeah, its a bummer for sure and tracks so close together. They use to run the Icebreaker on Sunday afternoon's a few years ago. Could have been a 2 day super late model weekend.

I did not miss any post.

Yes Punta Gorda posted in Nov I think Desoto posted in Dec big deal.

It would seem between the track owners or managers of the two track posting it would have been fixedthe probloem so that you were not on top of each other. You both have two months or more to fix the poblem.

Just seem a big shame that two business owner dont want more car count in there pits for a race and a beeter show for there fans..

I just really don't think it will matter much due to the fact PGS drivers mainly race PGS only and other drivers don't really travel to PGS.

Now lets see if i get this or not..All the tracks in flotida but one make a allinace to race supers and to do this on the same rules and tires. Then there is one that doesent join and now it suprises you that they have races on the same date..The other tracks dont do this to each other.
The best thing that could ever happen is to have the same rules and tires in the state of florida but someone will allwase say...WHY dont they get together and when they do somone will run them down for trying..
Now i didnt say anything bad about PGS and hope they do great with there races ..But who didnt do what to whom??
Boy that was fun..standing on the out side looking in..

DeSoto and PGS are only a mile apart? Thought PGS was way further south towards Fort Meyers.

Not only on the same date, but...

*EVERY* asphalt track, with the exception of Orlando, runs on the same freakin' night of the week.

St. Pete's just gonna add to the confusion, and dilute fields of cars, not to mention fans, further.

Schedules, timing or whatever, The "Icebreaker" has been run for 32 years during the first week in March. A little research goes along way....

I have a feeling Citrus will be effected as well when Showtime opens.

When it does open and i am in town i will catch a show there...........been a long time.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

The only other problem i see is guys who wanted to try and run both series.

I remember when the local guys went to their local tracks and the traveling shows were just that.........traveling shows. It didn't really effect the locals.

Same with fans, if i have a good show 20 miles away I'm not gonna drive 100 miles to another track.

And, we have TOO MANY traveling series.......not just here in Fla but EVERYWHERE!

No the shows at Desoto didnt make it. I know and i was there. I did 6 trys and so did many others . This is not up north ware they only have 20 weeks to race.
                              thanks for listning
