From Speed51:
Ted Christopher just told Speed51.com that he will be going home after tonight's DQ. Christopher also said that he saw no reason to pull apart his motor with so many nights left in the week.

Even though I've always been a TC fan, that story just doesn't add up to me. Do you mean to tell me that they towed down from yankee land without a spare motor? I don't think so. Did they already damage an engine this week? How would I know, my point is that these guys got told to tear down by their own series director and refused to do so. So instead doing engine work, buying another or borrowing one, they are pulling out and driving north.
Sorry, I am not sympathetic. This decision doesn't reflect well on them, and will be difficult to explain away. I don't want to hear anything like, "well, the series doesn't pay enough to tear down." They knew what it paid before they left and chose to come down anyway.
Its too bad. That team has been a loyal supporter of the World Series for so many years, and TC is always one of the main attractions, no matter what he drives.
