  • NSS Night 3

Not nearly as interesting as night 2...

SLMs were a snoozefest as Benjamin led the whole way. No real action for my taste.

Crates ran a clean race - which was a surprise, but not a thriller either.

FL Mods will be lucky to have 10 cars by the end of the week. Dont know the guys name, but he hit a ton going into three on the opening lap - almost looked like a stuck throttle the way it went up the track. Dont know, he got out OK.

TBARA was exciting for the speed and crazy moves they put on - and seeing the Boneman run, but other than that not that interesting.

Time for me to take a break - 1 Late Model show at VSP then back for Thursdays 50 lapper and Saturdays and I might be done..

    I agree--
The limeted/crates didn't have a wreckfest, and swept along pretty good.
The Super/lates were the class of the night, the thrill of the night,I thought, and no big/heavy wrecks to kill the evening.
Even the IMCA/FLA mods, amongst a massive blowout in turn 3, still was a barnburner.
The TBARA heats/feature were OK. Good to see Bone85 Sprinter, and fellows/friends. Their show was fast and great, as usual.
Overall, a good night of racing.

I spent most of the night helping BM and company. It was great to see some old friends and meet some new ones.
I was amazed at the amount of room left in the infield. I don't ever remember it being that empty during speedweeks.
I still don't understand the intermission, there is no need to drag the show along. People have to work and children have school most weekdays.

I was watching the shootout the other night, the first caution lasted nearly 15 minutes, I lost interest and changed the channel.......... just sayin

When I was there Friday I commented to Rusty Marcus that there just wasn't the "electric" atmosphere of years past... Everybody just seemingly going through the motions... Plenty of room to park in the pits both in the infield and up top too... After being at Volusia for two nights it was definitely a different "feel"... But, racing is RACING, so I love it no matter what!

all fairness to Nss, Volusia seemed kind of flat as well compared to years past.
I liked Volusia because they didn't have any stupid ass intermissions.

I don't know, Saturday night, I really enjoyed. The racing Sunday just didn't live up to my expectations I guess. Really looking forward to Thursday and Saturday. One thing I thought was interesting, in the interview speed51 did with Rogers, he mentioned that he didnt really even get to know the younger drivers names anymore because they are only there for a few years if that. NSS used to be a destination that the drivers (Senneker, Eddy, Trickle, Hanley, etc) enjoyed coming down for the week. They would hang out afterwards get drunk/BS. Now it is more of a race and go home mentality for people - as he said half these kids have to get to bad early.

VSP just has a different feel with the way the show is put together, the sheer number of cars in a division adds to that as well.
