I do disagree with you on one thing. Because of Linda and all the hard media work she does, PGS is really doing well. every week she puts stories in the newspapers, posts on all boards and works her a$$ off at the track. alot of it is pro bono. people in our area were stunned to know there was a race track in PG. Linda let them know. you and i might know whats going on at the tracks but alot more people dont. Linda makes sure she covers all bases and obviously she promotes her own track the most because thats where her knowledge is. if every track had a person like her it would REALLY be awesome for that track and the information highway would be jammin....
Thank you Linda for all you do. I realize you are a part of a team but you give 1000%.

Jerry.. i agree with you 100% but i also think its really important for all the tracks to have a rep write news of their track happenings on here. alot of people CANT make it to tracks due to $$$$ or health or other reasons and its fun to read what happens on here. but you are right. what the fans think about racing is really important. they are the ones who fill the seats and help pay the bills.
the problem on this board regarding your post is that "opinions" seem to bring out the not so nice side of people. if we were all mature enough to respect different opinions it would be GREAT. however the constant attacking makes people clam up and quit giving their opinions. just my silly opinion......

I have reread Don Nerone's post several times. Don't see or find where he is talking about a racing track. He is talking about THIS MESSAGE BOARD. Count how many people come on here now and how many used too. If this was a race track and had alot of fights and other things that you didn't like happening in your pits and decided to clean it up, you would find that the so called troublemakers would leave, however, there is no one to take their place liked you hope there would be. You all wanted to clean this board up and did a great job.

i think alot of people left because there was little or no conversation about racing.
the posts related to the Boneman/Tuna saga really sucked and i even left.
you would be surprised how many people are reading the board and waiting for some good racing news. ;-) i hear from them all the time.
I would love to hear from people involved with the rebirth of Sunshine Speedway now known as Showtime Speedway! This is HUGE news.
Bobby Diehl has written some great stuff. he may be an emotional basket case but at least he gave us news about Ross Chastain and Josh Williams...
when we had the Sunshine reunion the building and parking lot were packed like sardines...where the heck are you people?

you all got what you wanted a clean board. this proves several things. 1. you all that were unhappy about the posters that you didn't want on here or write what they were writing got them to leave or not to write. 2. racing is losing ground in Florida and all over the nation. 3. thought that there would be people to take their place once you got rid of them. you wrote that people stayed off because of the troublemakers. the people that come on here, how many tracks do they really represent. however, be happy, you won.

To be clear - for me - i would enjoy silence over the BS that was spewed by someone to remain nameless. Did i expect a massive influx of people after he left? Nope. I can at least read the ones that are here without the constant droning on and on about being wronged etc.

Since the messageboard was cleaned up so to speak, the volume of post have decreased but the quality has increased exponentially. There have been some great threads about car numbers, photos, Karnicien or is it spelled Karnician get togethers, and even some lively discussion about NASCAR.

Hopefully, the people that were run off due to the unwanted drama will continue to return and discuss racing. I see alot of people that vacated, are starting to slowly return. It's a good thing for the messageboard.

If people like Frass, Dave, Boneman, OJ, and yes even the KARNAC mommy Carol and Aunt Jane keep posting, the site will bounce back with the racing season starting up.

Carol... I agree with what you are saying about Track media... it is needed, and for most people, that's all the info they need. Date, laps, winners, upcoming events, etc.....

The problem with track media, is that it's their job to show each event in the best possible light. If you read the reports, every single week had grew racing, a fantastic crowd, and everyone leaves happy and excited to be coming back next week. The truth is, some weeks suck no matter where you go. You'll NEVER see a release from PGS (or any other track for that matter) write up a report that says "the fields were small, track conditions sucked, and there wasn't a single pass for the lead all night".

I want the TRUTH about what's happening. Not the pumped up, wildly exaggerated, one-sided view of the racing action.

One side of the news is put out by people whose responsibility it is to promote the track in the best possible way. The other side of the news, the side I trust in, comes from entirely neutral parties. THAT is the side I want to read on here. I can get "the company line" by going to any press release from any track I the country.... but I'm not gonna get the truth there....!
