  • Top 10 Racer Nicknames Acceptable to Osmosis Jones

So Osmosis thinks that racing nicknames are frivolous, and should not just be tagged on a driver by an announcer. The truth is, most of them are just “too aggressive” for Osmo, and he would prefer a nickname that better reflects the inner workings of a modern man. Imagine, nicknames that aren’t so suggestive, and yes, even frightening!

For example, Jim “Freight Train” Fenton. Wouldn’t it be an improvement to use Jim “The Philosopher” Fenton instead?

    10 “The Flying Humanitarian”

      I don't think....

...anybody want's me assigning any "nicknames" around here, MarrowBoy....cuz when I start doing that, they usually stick.

And I could come up with some pretty good shit about all you rubes, believe me.

Thanks, Uncle Don, for remembering those "olden days" of my youth. We showed em' just what "Fahrvergnügen" was all about for a while, didn't we?....lol....Bob just posted a vid (at St. Pete) of that tiny, blue Scirrocco I ran at Lakeland a few times with Joe N.

        Desoto 1990

I raced against Hank The " main shaft of an internal-combustion engine to which the connecting rods are attached " and "Gumby" .
At Desoto for (1) season , 1990 . I think that's when Don Came in after
        Tom Stimus left.

          Nope.

Don's tenure at Desoto was before Stimus came barrel-rolling in. From there he was at Orlando then on to another of my favorite tracks, the little 1/4 mile inside the 5/8ths in Lakeland (before the 3/4 mile snore-a-rama got built).

If you know my dad and my buddy Sonny, then you probably know me. Send me a PM.

Speaking of nicknames, I was the one who gave Sonny his. Had nothing to do with race cars, though.

            Nope

We didn't know Hank or Sonny personally , just raced against them that year.
It was our first year racing and we parked way out in the East 40. We were out of towners and didn't know anyone . Surprisingly though , we were running a Stock mini and they were paying $350 to win, Mods were $450.
And I remember Don coming in to pick up the pieces AFTER Stimus was gone.
If my memory hasn't gone haywire in my old age.
