Rusty, I know it's primitive camping. That's the problem. I don't mind no hook-ups. It's the price. I'll just leave the Motor Home at home, and drive up for a race or two. Not as much fun as staying at the track, but much cheaper. I know it' not your fault. NSS has been high on camping for years. They need to take a lesson from Ocala. billy

$35.00 a night?!?!?! To park my motor home across the street so I can take off all week from work to spend money and support the track. I could see maybe a 50.00 fee for a week pass , Maybe?!?! if that, i dont know when this started but say Im there 10 nights because i get there the day before the events start , thats 350.00 added to my weeks bill. I know Daytona International Speedway charges for parking but this is New Symerna Speedway, I dont know if this is the first year they have done this or not but my thoughts are that this is insane especially with the state that short track racing is in at the moment and the lower and lower car counts NSS has had throughout the years during speedweeks.

I read several forums all over the Northeast, especially when it gets closer to Speedweeks to find out everyones plans. There are a ton of people that come down here with barely enough budget for some race tickets, somemsandwich meat & bread, and sleeping in a tent, pop-up or a pull behind camper. They can't afford hotels, and asking this kind of price is gonna be a deal-breaker for some. They don't expect luxury, they just want to stay at the same place they plan on spending every dime they scraped together to get here. If they can't afford the camping fee, they ain't coming at all. FACT....!

Sorry Rusty, NSS, Robert, etc.... my opinion is, bad move.....

$35 a night to stay in a parking lot is a ridiculous. This will cause a loss of revenue in the big picture and a black eye for the track. I hope somebody rethinks this plan.

FREE camping is the only answer.

$15 would be fair. Isn't there a "camping area" west of the track, or am I thinking of Volushia?

FASCAR should learn from NASCAR what happens when you price all the normal working class people out of racing. my opinion they have too many full time employes trying to make a living off of the racer and fans. 35 dollars for primitive camping when i seen that i just had to check the howard johnson at I4 and 44 is 46 dollars a night includes bed/ running water/ toilet and free breakfast. I would rather stay at the track but i think at that price i would stay home or go up the road

35.00$ to have a place to dry camp and 35.00 pit pass will keep me in homestead.Paid 25.00 last time I went and that was too much.
                The money comes and goes.
The trophy we get to keep.

Not sure why, but I did some research this morning. I know that the same naysayers will not be moved by this.

I called 6 campgrounds in the area this morning. 3 of them answered their phone.

                  #1 SOLD OUT

                  #2 $50.63 per night 2 person PRIMITIVE

#3 $99.00 per night with hook ups

Now with that said, I am done with this and moving on to having a good time at the World Series! You can join me, or post why racing is evil. Your choice.

                  Have fun wherever you go!

I called three parking lots this morning and nobody answered.

Walmart is usually free to park overnight.

You can not compare a camp ground to a parking lot. You guys are missing the boat on why you should offer "free over night parking". People will stay longer, spend more money eating and buying tickets.

Somebody just don't get it. Pretty sad.

EZ,that's one of the reasons I don't go to speed weeks anymore. Take a $25.00-40.00 ticket plus the camping fee from $12.00-35.00 and that can make for a very expensive night. I use to stay 3 weeks. No more. If I go to a race, I drive up and back the same night, and don't buy anything except a ticket from the track. Rusty and the rest can ignore it, but it's a real problem. I wouldn't mind if it was $5.00 to help cover someone walking through to pick up the trash but.... You are right, there's no comparison between a parking lot and a campground. My motor home will be parked this month, and so will I (probably). That's as bad a Bubba and their $4.50 hot dogs. billy

The bubba wiener is less filling and over priced.

Just curious. Having never camped there or paid attention to the prices for that, does anyone know what it was last year and was it the same set up?
That being said, Rusty, glad to know you will be around this year, I look forward to saying hey!!
