Barberton Speedway up here is under new management and is now NASCAR sanctioned, making it the fourth paved track here in Ohio (Painesville, Kil-Kare, and Columbus are the other three).

Late Models will be template- or outlaw-style with a 50-lb weight break for the template cars (2,650 vs 2,700).

NO TIME TRIALS Heat races will set the field.

Payouts for a regular show ($200 just to start a weekly show!):
HEATS: $25-20-15-10-8

FEATURE:
14 cars or more: $1000-750-500-450-400-350-300-250-200-REST-200
9 to 13 cars: $750-500-400-350-300-350-300-200-REST-200
8 cars or less: $500-375-325-275-225-200-200-200

Barberton Owners

Good luck to whomever the new owners of Barberton Speedway are.

I spent many years at that track with the Legend Cars Series before moving to Florida several years ago. I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Richard last year, and wondered how much longer the family would keep the track.

Hopefully they will keep the same divisions of racing, since they always had a decent car count and a great crowd in the stands.
