I agree with F118. The Legends have to have at least 24 start at OSW to make it interesting. Also, why don't you put some effort into a good figure 8 class. Again 5 cars won't cut it. Sunshine used to have some of the best figure 8 races around. I went to OSW for the Truck Charity race last month, and almost went to sleep. Oh, maybe it was past my bed time. Ya gotta keep us old farts awake. If nothing else works, put dirt on the track. billy

If anyone at Orlando EVER tells you that they do not want you there...CALL ME 407-557-6509! Robert got me involved with this program to assist in getting it back where it needs to be. Butch and Barbara are on board with making OSW the USLC capitol again
Well from what I heard, the Legends were planning on touring mostly with the FUPLMS to Orlando, DeSoto, and Citrus, but apparently OSW, and Citrus didn't want the "little cars"...That is just what I was told.

I can assure you that is not accurate. Now possibly OSW did not want the tour. But I can assure you that I have been asked to help out and get the Legend and Bando program going again. Now I can only do so much being here in LA but have been working on this for a few months now. I have assured USLCI that they WILL be running and I have the backing of Robert Hart that they will.

The main thing is have FUN where ever you go!

            09 mini

Hello, I was born and raise in New York and raced in upstate NewYork, and now I`m in Florida, I been here for 22 years so far, and got to know everyone and every race tracks I go to. Citrus County is a nice track, Sunshine Speedway was closed and will schedule to reopen in May this year of what Robert Yoho said. East bay is dirt track, that 20 mi. from where I live. Bubba Raceway Park is named former Ocala Speedway. That track is dirt now. I like hockey, Tampa Bay Lightning playing here, that televise on TV every game. I know you say about Lakeland Speedway, there was track then, gone today. If you`re happen to like to move here, best place I believe to stay is between Tampa and Plant City. so you`re in the middle of everything. Daytona is Feburary and July 2-4th, Strawberry Fest is coming in 1st week in March. If you like NFL football there`s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So, what you think.

              car count

In the summer-time we average about 20 cars a night at Auburndale, and Punta Gorda averages about 10 a night, and Bronson.....well they're kind of out to lunch with everything..

The reason that legend cars don't travel as much, is because some tracks don't want "little cars" EX: Citrus, Orlando. This year they were trying to follow the "Florida United Promoters Late Model Series" but most of the tracks did not want us.
I am not really sure how accurate your car count thoughts are for Legend Cars with Florida being the second largest count except California. I see that you mentioned Auburndale and Punta Gorda with car counts of 20 and 10. As I stated in Ohio we had at least 6 tracks (within 3 hours) on any Friday or Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon that averaged at least that many and more. Barberton Speedway (Saturday) averaged 18 a night, Columbus Speedway (Saturday) averaged 25 - 30 a night, KilKare Speedway (Saturday) averaged 25 - 30 a night, Midvale Speedway (Saturday) averaged 20 a night, Toledo Speedway on a Sunday afternoon averaged 25 and Erie Speedway just across the state line in Pennsylvania on Friday evenings would average 20. This is just the asphalt tracks.

I do know that with the 6 tracks, there were at least 100 cars registered with INEX.

I am not saying that Ohio is better than Florida when it comes to Legend Cars, but are there that many tracks within a three hour drive here in Florida that can offer that many Legend Cars on any given weekend evening.

              Enjoy racing

Such a lively discussion about Legends.

Personally I look at Bandelero's somewhat like Go-Carts, but Legends Cars are in an entirely different class to me. Legends are much, much, much more exciting to watch as a fan than any other four cylinder division I've ever seen. I'd much rather watch 8 legends cars than 8 mini stocks.

                Thanks,
                Jeff.

                        winter nationals

Did I see something that OSW was trying to get the Legend program going again and was hoping to host the Winter Nationals again?
