Caught that too. It looks like there are at least that many (if not more) for the full-blown Mods that are a dying class. The E-Mods CAN run with them, but who wants to spend all that tire money to get spanked by Symons and Tucker?
I think this E-Mod class could be a very good one with a few years developement. Cutting their opportunities down this low can't help the car counts.

We had a make up night at NSS this last year with the e-mods running the same night as the full mods. The full mods changed to a 2 barrel carb and ran with us.. We got spanked of course..DUH!..Engine rules??
I see on the 2012 rules now that you can't run a car in 2 classes on the same night.. Good idea, but a little late.

"I am not running my emod with a big motor mod"
Why not? Heard your E-Mod turns faster lap times at Orlando than Big Engine Mods. Randy, I'm not running my Big Motor (engine) on Airplane tires, unless someone wants to buy them. So I guess that balances it out.

well you know Dave that orlando you dont need as much motor there . if you go to new symrna to run a emod with a big motor mod it would be a waste of time and money . all I am saying is that my mod is a e-mod and will only be run in the e-mods . the motors are cheaper and the pay is about the same. it still cost the same to run if you are buying tires . I wish they would put them all back on slicks . I run pump gas cost me 50.00 to fill it up 15gals or I can spend 45.00 at the track for 5 gals and I have a brand new big motor for a mod and plan on building another mod . I have heard fans in the stands asking which ones are e-mods or big mods most can"t even tell which is which .

Well this thread got off topic and I might as well contribute my 2 cents. One of the larger problems in Florida are all the different classes. Several classes dilutes car and driver counts. When the decision was made to run e-mods, it was another nail in the coffin for Florida racing. Instead of adding another class (which looks similar to the modified class), they should have eliminated a class. Sure they may have picked up a few people that weren't racing before, but they also took some cars from the modified class. So now they have 2 mediocre classes of cars racing, rather than 1 substantial class. I just don't understand the logic. Sure I know all about the expenses. So if the modified class was dying because of the expense, maybe it should have been eliminated entirely. However, that's lame reasoning and BS. I've seen great modified counts at Citrus so the cars are out there. I don't have an issue with e-mods or mods. They just happen to be the latest example. A better solution would have been to write rules for the modified class that could have cut costs. But that didn't happen and now there are two separate divisions. The only way I can see this being brought to a successful outcome is to have both classes run in the same race. Give the emods a weight break and put restrictor plates on the modifieds. Otherwise, you are going to continue to have low car counts and boring racing that the fans will not want to watch. The tracks should be eliminating classes whose cars look the same also. It's too confusing to the casual fan and to many faithful fans also. This is not my opinion, it's a fact. Let me repeat: THERE ARE ALREADY TOO MANY DIFFERENT DIVISIONS RACING IN FLORIDA!!!!!My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

You are correct when you say a short track(OSW or Bronson or Citrus),it's the handling of the car that makes the difference. Then add a 4 barrel and run with the full mods, and be about 100plus HP short.
I'm starting the season with a fresh motor for a change, but it's an e-mod rules motor.
Should be a good year I think...

To tell the difference between the 2 classes, just tell them to listen to the 2 different types. E-Mod's sound like a city taxi cab. Put the big engine mod's on 10 inch tires and then there will be a visual difference then too. Tires only, not rims. Part of the problem why the big mod's dropped off is people like me aren't going to run airplane tires. Race cars are ment to be run on slicks, not glorified street tires. Randy, instead of building one, just buy one of mine, or better yet both. I'm done!

Maybe put the E-mods on slicks and leave the big motor's on the junk tires? I sold my big motor mod because they went to those tires, its no fun to run like that. Or eliminate the big motor mods, its easier to move down in motor than up.
The problem is New Smyrna is a Horsepower track, no matter what something that has 700HP is going to outrun something that has 385hp (to a certain extent). You can add all the weight you want, its going to be hard to get them equal...some of the big motor mods have 500hp, some have 700. I think you have to go with one or the other, but one thing I noticed is that even at the races where it was e-mods only there weren't very many of them. Although when there were big mods only there were typically only 7 or 8 of us. Tough call.
