The Punta Gorda Speedway has also decided to change some on track rules for the betterment of the racing program. Last year we tried to police the rough driving and blocking etc by making calls. We have decided to adopt a similar system used at Citrus County Speedway. If you are involved in an on track incident, all involved in the incident will be relegated to the rear of the field. If a driver wants to take responsibility for the incident they can tap the roof or wave off the official or flagman and the other competitor or competitors will get their positions back. This will also include last lap incidents where the checkered flag has already been presented. The Punta Gorda Speedway will reserve the right to relegate a competitor to the rear of the field for such offences as over aggressive driving, blocking, intentional take out or other offences deemed detrimental to the racing program. We are looking forward to a very fun, fair and successful racing season in 2012.
