MARCH
03 - ICEBREAKER…FUP LATE MODELS100-OWM-BOMBERS-MAGIC 4-FLYIN 4-LEGENDS
Great.....
Desoto Speedway's schedule was out on 12/8 and PGS schedule didn't come out until 12/14 so why would you put a schedule out overlapping dates with your biggest class? Neither track will benefit from this. The fan is the one that suffers! No car count No fans! Think about it!
Punta Gorda Speedway announces the 2012 Goodyear Super Late Model Challenge series
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Punta Gorda Speedway is happy to announce that in 2012 Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is our track tire. They also will be returning for the 2012 Super Late Model Challenge series as the primary sponsor along with 2 associate sponsors to be announced at a later date. At this time we would like to thank all of the Super Late Model drivers and crews that participated in the 2011 Goodyear 6 pack series. We would also like to announce that Goodyear tire was so pleased in car counts in the 2011 series that in 2012 they have decided to sponsor an additional 6 races renaming the series "Goodyear Super Late Model 12 Pack” series. The Goodyear Challenge overall points champion will receive a $3,000 check along with an embroidered Goodyear Champions jacket and trophy. There will be more details to follow but we wanted to get our dates out to the race teams to be able to plan accordingly. We would like to thank all the teams that made this years Super Late Model program a success and look forward to a great 2012.

You are right that PGS does not participate with the FUP's but there are several drivers that go to both. Why make them choose? Schedule so they can run in both!

You are correct. The super late schedule was out on Nov 28. The other schedule was out on Dec 14. Sorry my bad! The overlapping problem still exists for those drivers that want to run at both places though. There are several that do run both.
If i have to explain there is no reason to waste my time.
Yes please explain how this is a good business move when you have a half dozen or more drivers that run for points in both series have to choose one place not go to that early in the season and lose out in points in the other series. I need to hear this Mr Business 101! You must be one of those all about me people and not what is in the best interest of the sport guy's.
I don't think theres a lot of drivers that drive PG and the Fups. Wayne Anderson is the only one I am sure of but what happened to him at Auburndale he probably won't go back this year. Oh I think Jeff schofield raced at pg this year and FUPs. So I don't think it will make a large impact anywhere.
man....u guys would bitch if you were hung from a new rope...
its racing....over the years tracks have scheduled on top of tracks on top of other tracks....its going to happen....quit your whining and deal with it...
the same thing was done with a race on top of new smyrna this year....everyone complained and punta gorda still put on a whale of a show...
as a racer at the track that has gone to 2 other tracks and been treated like a piece of dirt at those 2 tracks(desoto and auburndale).... until you can compete with what they are doing just suck it up and take it...
kevin williams and his staff bust ass down there to get the track to be top notch. it has been since it opened in may of last year.
since bobby and gary left the drivers and car owners( i being one of them who has been there since day one) will tell you...i am going to run where i get paid and treated right...not where you get paid less than it cost you to haul there and run with 3 or 4 cars...
im not saying the late shows only bring that many cars...because i have friends who run there and do well....
but just suck it up....until tracks do what is done up north and one run friday one run saturday and one run sunday...its going to happen.....DEAL WITH IT

Phil, spot on!
Deuce, here's your explanation.
I'll add one more, you play bowling and golf tournaments all year. 1 businessman (bowling alley) doesn't want to be closed and lose money because the golf coarse is having a tourney who also wants business that day. YOU choose which one to go to, not expect one or the other to be CLOSED because YOU want to do both activities............ok.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.
