I’m making an exception tonight. After ignoring Don “tuna” Woodsome for 1 ½ years, and seeing his endless non-sense about me, tonight I break my silence.
After this I’ll probably stop again, but I had an interesting night, a night that my enemies will lie and rant about for years to come. So here is what happened.
After a nice night with the family, I rolled into Speedworld pretty late, and completely alone, to see the final two races of the Charity Truck weekend. After sitting down in the stands, I see some woman glaring at me, and then I realize I’m sitting next to mike budka, tuna, that woman and some other guy. After a bit, budka starts running his mouth and invites me over to tell him something to his face. So I walk over and inform him that he is a fucking asshole. Neither one of them move a muscle, and eventually budka starts running his mouth again. You can imagine how the conversation went. My apologies to the Speedworld fans in the vicinity. Budka runs his mouth and tuna didn’t have much to say. Every other time I’ve seen tuna, he wouldn’t say a word to me and looks the other way.
Twice I invited them to start something with me and I would defend myself. Naturally they wanted to “meet me in the parking lot”, so I started down the stands and waved them to come on. I informed tuna that he is a liar and a coward, but he wouldn’t move. Instead, they came back with “no no, after this race.”
So after the race, I headed down and waited for them by the only gate out. Eventually the 4 four of them showed up, but they “didn’t want to meet me here”, go outside instead. So I follow them outside the gate and say, “ok, don lets go.” For the first time ever, tuna actually summons the courage to speak to me. He only did it because some woman got between us. Tuna’s final excuse was “you just want to get me thrown out of Orlando!’ What a pussy.
Why didn’t I start it? Because it is crazy to start a fight, with multiple unfriendly witnesses, and with someone who would drag things through the courts for years. I’ve never had legal problems and I don’t intend to start. I wish either one of those assholes would have made a threatening move so I could defend myself. I always lament that this didn’t happen 20 years ago when you could loosen up a few teeth every time someone lies or slanders you. Todays litigious society prevents that and allows shit like this to go on for years.
The good thing about tuna and budka is that they are unable to convince anyone with a brain to believe any of the shit they spread. I can tell you with complete certainty that 100% of what tuna said about me has been a total lie. Everything.
I will also testify that tuna has influenced NO ONE to change their opinion of me. If anything, the shit storm has made me more well known and well thought of because I’ve been a man about things.
So there you go. You can believe the tuna versions that will flood in for years, or you can believe mine.
From here I can make these promises. I am going to race for another 20 years and am going to have a great time doing it. I’ll continue concentrating on the excellent friends I have at the tracks, and I will be happy and positive. I will never change a plan in response to my enemies. I’m going to have a GREAT Christmas with my family and friends, and as usual, I won’t lose any sleep over lunatic internet big mouths.
