I hope they do. I have always wondered why they wanted to be different from everywhere else in the southeast.

Oh My God its about time...cus only 74 of us showed up to qualify for the snowflake 100 last weekend at the Snowball Derby. Where's the guy on here that always says crate motor racing is dead, smart comment seeing as 74 crate cars were at one race. And does anyone ever notice the number of crate cars dwarfs the LLM's at speedweeks? If this is true it is the first smart thing I've seen NSS do in a VERY long time. I could go into about 50 other things they should do copy from five flags but I won't get into it right now.

And what would you have the 100 limited Late owners do the the cars they have now? That will help the car count at NSS.

If there are a hundred out there then 93 of them aren't showing up to the weekly shows, the governers cup (biggest eastern FL race of the year) only had 21 and I'm willing to bet a few of those were crate motor cars. If you have a stock clip car, sell it to a guy that wants to run sportsman (thats what they've become anyways, stock clip latemodels with less motor). If you have a tube clip buy a crate motor and take 200lbs off the car. The crate motor racing is more economical, there are more of them out there, and in my opinion it is much better racing.

Two things to note is that at the World Series last year they had a full field (or at least close I think there were 28) of pro late models and there were only 15 LLM's. The other thing is that if you watched or listened to the snowflake 100 the field was separated from 16.712-17.115, that 4/10ths of a second between 36 cars...that makes for good racing. I mean I'm sure the fans had a blast seeing Rich Clouser win every race of the season (not taking anything away from him, very talented driver) but with only six cars showing up for most of the races it looks like its time for a change, even he has to be getting bored at this point. Though it doesn't sound like I need to convince anyone...it looks like NSS has made there decision and I think it is a positive one.

It always puzzled me as to why they insisted on being different by having Ltds rather than pro/crates. Any short term drop in car counts will be made up in the long run.

I don't know why, but I herd you can also run the spec motor but you have to run a restricter, dosn't make any since, just keep it simple with the crates. I for one was not in favor of crates, but over time and learning feel it is the best way to go racing these days.

5 Flags gave if I' am not mistaken 2 years to comply...not everyone can go out tomrrow and buy a new motor and what about the 2bbl motors. As far as selling your stock front clip car alot of the crate's are old ASA cars with stock front clips.

crates can run as a limited now chad pierce is competative, Cole Powell won last night of speedweeks in a crate car racing as a limited. making the limiteds now spend alot of money to conform to a new class doesnt make much since from a financial standpoint. why dont the crate cars come now(there arent many left in florida that will run weekly)

derby week(cars from all over the county) cant be compared to weekly racing at nss

No I'm not saying cars will come long distances to go to a weekly show, but only 6-8 are showing up to the weekly shows now so maybe changing to Pro's will help...let's put it this way, how bad could it hurt? If you own a Fascar LLM you can pretty much only run these local tracks, you can't take it anywhere and maybe that prevents some people from having a LLM. If you have a Pro you can go run other big races throughout he country where the rules are consistent...I live in Jacksonville and I drive all the way out to 5 Flags to race because I don't want to have a car you can only run at two tracks.

Rusty, I was more comparing the Derby week to the Governers Cup and Speedweeks. 28 Pro cars showed up for speedweeks last year and its not a division at the track, imagine if that were the local class how many more there would be, and imagine how many would be at the Governer's cup if you had cars coming from other area's on top of the local cars.

I also think that the late model divisions race too often, maybe it shoudn't be a weekly show. Have the supers race 5 or 6 big races (I realize thats how the supers are now) and the pro's race 5 or 6 big races on oppositte weekends, then have the Governer's cup be the finaly for both classes. Its tough for a late model team to buy tires every other weekend, especially with low pay and competing against 6 other cars. If you go to Mobile or five flags for one of their late model races (either class) there are cars from Texas, Lousiana, Tennesse, etc. and that is considered a normal race their, not a big event like the derby or the Rattler 250. There's about 28 weekends in the season, that would give you a BIG race every couple of weeks that fans would want to see, rather than a 6 car race every other weekend that nobody wants to see. Then you could increase the pay for those races big, find a decent sponsor and get the car counts up. Thats just my opinion, I would rather not drive 6 hours to race so I would like to see a positive change at NSS because the way it is now obviosuly is not working.
