Tech is very important to any race track. How far do you go tho??? I know rules are rules. I see 2 things happen. 1 is they let alot slide and the other is they let nothing go. No give of any kind. I think in today's world you really have to have a good tech guy who can adapt. I mean if you have a couple of new cars come in with some infractions add some weight and let them run. There are many cases where weight can make the difference. They have to fix it before they come back. In the case where its run what you brung, it hurts a track in big ways. Then you have tracks that makes the rules as you go. Set your rules, have faith in your tech and be fair.
