We Lose Another One

We lost former driver Duane Burrows to cancer this morning. Burrows competed in the All American Challenge Series, All Pro Series, and was a regular in DeSoto Speedway Goody’s Late Model competition in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Burrows was a vital part of the Bubba Pollard LM team owned by Ronnie Sanders over the last few years. Services are planned for Burrows near his hometown of Bradenton, Florida on Monday.

Another great person/racer gone. Duane and his entire family were some of the nicest people in the pits at Desoto back in the day. We raced together quite a bit back then and had some pretty good times. As a team, they always had top notch equipment in whatever class they competed and always it was spotless. When they went Late Model racing in the late 80's they fielded team cars for both Duane and JoJo Rice (out of Naples, I think). I'm pretty sure Duane and his dad were based out of Venice and ran a very successful trucking business.

Rest in peace, Duane. You will be missed.

We will miss him.

I remember how much he support CCMP and all the Shorts Tracks. He and Jessie D were the Dynamic Dual. He will be missed. Our prays are whit his Family and Friends.
