A friend from NC called to relay the news that former dirt LM racer Willie Mayrand, 71, passed away on Oct. 30. He lived in the Asheville, NC suburb of Leicester and was the owner of Crown Aluminum there. Not sure where he lived while in Florida but he was a regular at Lake City, Ocala and Volusia I'm told. Willie passed due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. RIP.
