Commentary
The Top Gun Sprints made their sixth visit of 2011 to Bubba Raceway Park on Saturday November 12, 2011. There were 23 cars at the track to give fans three heat races and a 25 lap feature race.
Ryan Partin in the 14 car had the pole with Sport Allen in the 81 on the outside for the start of the K & N heat race. On the start Sport Allen got the better start and took the lead and never looked back and was the winner. The 83 of Mark Ruel Jr. had the pole for the ROD END SUPPLY heat race, with Jimmy Ballew Jr. in the 0 car on the outside. On the start 02 of Gene Lasker and 1* of Tim George got together and brought out the red flag. On the restart it was Robbie Smith of the 6S took the second heat win. Kerry Gilbert in the 55 car had the pole with Rich Alexander in the 8 for the start of the SIMPSON heat race. It was Kerry Gilbert to take the lead and the heat win.
The 6S of Robbie Smith had the pole for the start of the LUCAS OIL feature race event, with the 43 of Danny Martin alongside. After a parade lap, race went to green and it was Kyle Welchance in the 47W car flipped in turn 1 wall that brought out the red, he was ok but car not so. After clean-up and a restart it was Robbie Smith took the lead, after several yellows on the next restart it was Danny Martin out front and never looked backed and took the checkered flag, followed by Robbie Smith in the 6S car, Sport Allen in the 81 car, Brett O’Donnell in the 11 car and Kerry Gilbert in the 55 car rounding out the top 5.
