Just saw on Sunshine's FaceBook page that we just lost Tim Miller, another Florida west-coast short track *racer*. I remember Tim from DeSoto and Golden Gate (not so much at Sunshine, unless it was the Gulf Coast Classic). Tim's familiar red and white #80X is what stands out in my mind.

Man....
This is sad news. Tim was a great family man, businessman and racer. He and my dad were good friends. In fact, Tim spoke at my dad's funeral when he passed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Edith, Johnny, Sonny, Victor, Lisa and their familes for their loss.

Man thats Bad news. I knew his health had failed the last few years. He was one of the best late Model drivers of his day. Tim won a bunch of races in his day. Always the gentleman. He will be missed. Our prayers go out to his family. Bob...

Timothy Irving Miller, Sr., 72 Parrish, passed away November 6, 2011. He was born on March 20, 1939 in St. Petersburg, Fla. to the late Hoot and Bernice (Garbett) Miller. Tim was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. He was the organizer of Miller Insulation in Bradenton, founding the company in 1962 and managed it until 2007 when his son took over control of the company. He was also a member of the Bradenton Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Shrine Club, 100 Club, Manatee Masonic Lodge F&AM, and was retired from the Board of Directors for both the Gold Bank and American Bank in Bradenton. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Edith, two sons; John (Tina Marie) Miller of Parrish, Tim Jr., of Bradenton, daughter, Kim M. (Brian) Garnett of Bradenton, two step-sons; Richard Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn., Victor (Heather) Johnson of Bradenton, step-daughter, Lisa (Shell) Wortman of Brandon, Fla., brother, Buddy (Sherry) Miller of Linden, Tenn., sister, Lynn (Lynn) Greenwalt of Ocala, Fla., 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street West, Bradenton. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Bayside Community Church, 15800 State Road 64 East, Bradenton with committal to follow.
