NAPLES — You know we’ve had a lot of rain when the annual October swamp buggy races have to be postponed because of high water.
That’s the decision officials at the Florida Sports Park made early Saturday morning. Friday night’s persistent downpours left the facility’s parking lots off Collier Boulevard under water and the water level in the track itself was deemed too deep for safe competition.
While the swamp buggy parade went on as scheduled Saturday morning, all other events were put off until the weekend of Nov. 12-13.
