  • Screw you Trevor Bayne!

I know why he did it, but dang... he lost a mentor and a chance to win that race!

Logano made a great come back too. Being 3 laps down and no left front fender to finish on the lead lap. Very impressive!!

He and Gordon were communicating during the last caution with 2 to go and Bayne agreed to push Gordon the last two laps. Shortly after the green Kenseth got right behind Bayne and he ducked out from behind of Gordon and went with Kenseth instead, leaving Gordon out to dry. It wasn't Bayne's fault apparently, he was pretty upset about it all after the race and made it apparent through some social media that he was ordered to go with Kenseth, the fellow ford, after the restart. Team orders made Bayne look pretty bad, and probably cost him any chance of Gordon helping him again in the future (who pushed him to the win in the 500). He would've most likely done much better drafting with Gordon to the end, as he finished 15th with Kenseth.

Yea Logano did very well! Was surprised to see him come back after receiving so much front end damage. Did a real good job keeping it all tucked behind the car he was pushing so it didn't affect the aero much.

In the pre race interview Trevor mentioned that the Fords were supposed to pair up with Fords. Guess when you're young and have no Cup ride for next year, it might behove him to go with his own team (Ford), since that's where his check comes from. Of course I'm not a big Jeffy fan. billy

Just a couple quotes from Bayne's twitter :

"I'm not happy about what this has become... It's too premeditated. We should be able to go with whoever is around is"

"I won't race restrictor plate races next year before I'm put in that situation"

" I wish everyone would understand. I'm as upset it turned out that way as anyone."

Yea i remember hearing that too. I can't blame him for working with his manufacturer and boss, definitely the smarter decision if he wants to keep a ride like you mentioned. But dang it sure did screw Jeff over when he told him he'd work with him. Jeff even admitted after the race he was surprised Bayne agreed to push him after hearing all the "ford only" talk.

Ya gotta feel for Trevor. He wasn't the only one that got screwed today. Daga was a real Payton Place. Newman screwed Hamlin and went with his boss, when he was supposed to be with Denny. I can understand the Ford-Ford deal, but that ain't racing in my book. You gotta race the whole field. Don't play patty cake with part of it, and dump the rest. Look what it got Denny and Trevor. Bad finishes for good drivers. billy

I agree, was a lose-lose situation for Trevor.

That is why I'm short tracking this year, first Bristol and next week i will be at Martinsville.

No riding in the back or making deals to create a bunch of 2 car packs.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

I agree Benny, but makes for some good napping background music. Wand these drafting "deals" are made or breaking, always have been.

They have to do something to stop the two car draft.

I agree. It's called love bug racin' for a reason. I don't like it at all, but there are a lot of lead changes. Only good part I guess.

Look people, there hasn't been real racing at Dega or Daytona since they put restrictor plates on those heaps. Now the trucks are doing the two truck tandems as well. It was great to see Mike Wallace win but the racing sux balls real bad. Next week, they are an hour from my house, guess where I'll be?
