        Rick Williamson,

I will be at Auburndale on 3-29 and I will be sure to come talk to you at Aarons pit about the state of the series. I don't really know what you are talking about that was soooo bad about the Tech at Desoto. Well the Tech guys did there job at Columbia as well, after Qualifying the top 3 all were told to pull the carb, and they checked all the carbs, and they also purchased a very nice large screen bore scope, and they used it to check to make sure that no machine work had been done on the heads or the intake. All cars were found to be legal at this time. After the race they had my car in the tech area for everyone to see, they had me pull the sparkplugs and a valve cover and they checked valve spring pressure which has to be factory stock, which it was. It was also anounced in the drivers meeting that the winner will now be starting 11th at the next race, so that should make all the old series racers happy. Thanks for asking about the series, it is turning a corner and getting better all the time. Thanks also to all the local Columbia sportsman cars for coming out to race with us. C-YA at Orlando for the next Southern Sportsman Race.

Well heard from one that was at DeSoto. And all he saw was on and off the scales after the race. And he said that the 3rd place car was 3 laps down at the finish to the first 2 cars. I'm glad to hear they did more at Lake City.

Rick correction on scoring info that you were given....third place car was on lead lap, as well as 4th place finisher. Fifth and Sixth place were both one lap down which happpened late in the race on lap #37 and #36 respectively. Just wanted you to have correct (official) information.

                Rick,

If you would like my telephone number so I can give you a personal race report as soon as tech is over I will. There was a 40 lap green flag run at Desoto and there were 2 cars that were flat hooked up, and yes we lapped some cars but, there were 4 cars on the lead lap not the 3rd place car 3 laps down. You might need to check to see how legitimate your info is before posting. Thanks again for your interest in the Southern Sportsman Series.
