Some photos from the NASCAR GN race... this is the one that Wendell Scott won....
1) Jack Smith leading Richard Petty, Billy Wade, Jimmy Capps, Ned Jarrett and David Pearson....
2) Larry Thomas crashed hard...
3) Jimmy Capps crashed his Plymouth on lap 50... The car on the wrecker (#2) is Jimmy Pardue who had broken an axle on the sixth lap...
4) Petty leads Jarrett...
Buck Baker was flagged the winner and visited victory lane... Later that night, after everyone had gone home, a scoring check revealed Baker did, in fact, complete 200 laps BUT Scott ran 202... That's the way it shows in the record books now... Baker never even gave Scott the trophy... The car Scott won with was one that Ned Jarrett drove in 1962 and sold to Scott at the end of the year.
