A little warmer tonight and a lot of great racing action again. Just like Wednesday night a last race pass for the lead with the winner riding around the top of the track for the win.
In a borrowed car Johnny Scott takes the lead and the win away from John Tesch, Tesch looked like he had this one in the bag. Scott in a Hughes back up car was working his way to the front from his 12th starting position. With 5 laps to go Scott on the high side of the track beats Tesch to the start finish line to take the lead. Once in front Scott opened up a 4 to5 car length lead and never looked back.
In just as remarkable a story as the winner, Johnny Bone jr. made a late race bid to take 2nd place honors coming from 16th.
However it was sour grapes for Bone as he still did not have enough points for the night to make the top 6 in points and get into the big show Saturday.
THOUGHT - Does this have overtures of NASCAR, great performance on the track in a near winning effort but does not fit within the points structure. I guess their is a fine line between good qualifying thru the time trails, heats, b-mains, and how you run in the A-main. I am glad it is not me scoring the race because I like performance on the track when it is all on the line like the a-main.
I am off my stump now so enjoy the video.
