I got this e-mail from Roger this morning. He's still taking it hard and quite bitter, but has a lot of support from his friends.

I went to the benefit for Dee Dee that was organized & put on by a former class mate of hers from Cedar Hills Baptist church. It was at a sports bar on Park St. called Pastimes. I helped Dee Dee & Sarah's step dad Nick grill hot dogs. Or if you is from Ga Ja, Hot Dawgs. We got there around 1;30pm, & stayed until about 4;15, my sister Joan & her Brian were there as well as Brian's 2 sons & one of their girl friends. Violet & Darrell & my little fat buddy Alyssa were also there. There was many more people there. Publix donated 200 hot dawgs plus the buns. Sarah had bought a lot of condiments from Sams. So when we left every one was haveing a good time. Alyssa did not want to leave. She is a party animal. Sarah had printed out two large posters of Dee Dee & lamenated them, they were behind the stage where the bands were playing. I think there were 8 or more bands that would play. It will go on until 0130 in the a.m. But I is old & tired so I came home. Just wanted to let you guys know what is going on.
RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.
