Charity 200 Race Weekend forced to change event format, Late Model 100 dropped
Orlando FL 10-12-11 - After a hard search for sponsorships and serious prayer Rick Bristol announced today a change to this years Charity 200 Race weekend.
"For the first time in the nearly six years of this event, the economy has forced me to cancel something for the event. I have searched hard to find some late sponsors to help us get to the amount needed to do what we had hoped this year to make the event bigger. We were able to add a couple late sponsors to get us secure with being able to open the gates and run the program, so that all the gate and other monies raised can go to the families. But we could not raise enough to support two 100 Lap purses. The trucks were the foundation to this event since the inception, so it saddens me to have to cancel the Late Model 100 portion of the event." stated Rick.
The Late Model 100 will be canceled and some changes are going to be done to the schedule for the weekend. The first change is that the Super-Stock 50 will be moved to Saturday night the 10th. There has been a purse added to the $600 winners money sponsored by Brun's Inc. General Contractors. The purse is up on www.carsevents.com .
The second change is that the Strictly-stocks will now run both nights, Friday Night the 9th is their $500 to win event that will now be 35 Laps ! They will then run a 25 Lap Feature Saturday night that will pay 1.$150 2. 100 3. 75 top three.
They will draw for starting spots for the 35 Laps Friday and then the start of the Saturday night race will be a total invert of the finish from Friday night. Any new cars will start behind the others. It will pay to be there both nights so you get the opportunity for a good start Saturday night.
DAARA Antiques will still be on Friday night with races and distances to be determined by car count and divisions. The Champ Karts will once again run both nights with there close quarters, drafting.
There is a possibility that another division could be added to Friday night, but that will be announced a bit later.
The final flyer, weekend schedule, and other info is up on the web site www.carsevents.com under the Charity 200 Race Info link.
Reminder to all Pro-Truck drivers your $75 Pre-entry is good until November 1st, $100 by December 1st or $150 after that. It also decides duplicate number and parking order based on order entries are received.
A complete list of the sponsors that are making this event possible will be announced and put on the web site as well in the next week or so.
Previously announced admission prices have been changed as well The grandstand admission for Friday has been lowered to $5 and the Saturday night show featuring the 200 Laps of racing is just $10 now. Pit passes remain $20 for Friday and $25 for Saturday night.
