Take my word for it. Those tires are a launching pad.If your in the throttle its up and away. If not, then its more or less a bump in the road.

As a driver I wouldnt even consider racing there with the tires like that. Not like the tires are really going to lessen the impact, but there is a large chance that the tires would pull you into the wall even if you stood a chance of missing it.

Maybe if they were large SOFT tires like take off lm, mod, or sportsman tires standing upright, but not laying down. Not tractor tires either.

ONLY way tires work is with a metal band so they do not hook you. Remember the old Jax Raceway with the TRAMPOLINE back stretch of tires.

Room for development

Those used tires could and should be developed into some type of "soft wall" for short tracks.

Stacking them to the top of the wall and bolting them together, from the side wall and on the tread area, would lessen the severity of the impact.

Uh oh. It would take money for all those nuts, bolts and washers to put them together.
Compare the cost of having to haul the tires to a landfill or having to pay a hefty fine for burying them (if you get caught) or possibly saving someone's life, if I owned a track, I would go for the nuts and bolts.

the tires are the 10 inch race tires (take offs) that have been there for over a month and they are only in the middle of the turns for our new go kart program. We pull them down off the wall when we have go kart races to set up the track for the kart raceing. Usually no one runs up to the center of the turns unless there steering breaks or sent up there and since they have been there, this is the first time someone has hit them. It takes alot of time to set the track up or take it down for the kart racing and having those few string of tires there save time. just incase some one wanted to know why the tires were there.
