Homestead Miami Speedway a High Speed Treat for V8 StockCar
    by Bosco

Homestead Miami Speedway's long straights and twenty degree high banks provide for high speed and big thrills and the V8 Series racers love the place.
V8 GT-1 and V8 SPO cars can top 180 mph out on the oval. Daytona double winner Alex Gonzalez is expected back in his V8 GT-1 Pancho Weaver built Camaro as well as Juan Vento in his Interstate Batteries C6 Corvette and Ray Webb in his ex Ryan Newman Dodge Charger. Cameron Lawrence in his Sebring winning V8 GTA Impala out of the Mike Cope Racing stable will be on hand trying to close in on points leader Randy Walker. Hall Robertson in his Farner Barley Associates Monte Carlo with his strong Byron Koury mill will challenge Lawrence. V8 GT2 points leader Bill McGavic will be on hand in his fast, well prepped tube frame RX-7. McGavic won handily on Sunday at Sebring a couple of weeks ago.

As the season winds down, Dave Machavern leads the V8 GT-1 class over Ray Webb, McGavic heads 2010 Champ Bob Mayer and Panoz GT driver Mike Attaway in V8 GT2. In V8 SPO Paul Breehne leads two time champ Larry Hoopaugh by twenty one points and Randy Walker edges Tom Graham for the V8 GTA lead.

After Homestead, next up for the group will be the SARRC Invitational Challenge at Roebling Road Raceway on October 8 & 9, followed by the ARRC at Road Atlanta on November 4 & 5 where our champions wil be crowned.
