  • A message from Kevin Williams the owner of PGS about the new Pro Truck rules

PRO TRUCK NEW RULE CHANGES AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2011

    1. Transmissions, 350 Turbo, C4, Power Glide, 3 Speed Saginaw, 4 Speed Muncie, No Jericho-High, Performance allowed.

    2. Working 10” Torque Converter For Automatics, High Performance From TCI is still legal as it always has been.

    3. 10” Steel Flywheel only, no aluminum allowed.

    4. Stock Clutch or 7 ¼ multi disk ok.

    5. Final Gear ratio is optional, for both automatic and standard trucks.

    6. Weight rule Automatics 2,800 lbs., standards 2,900 lbs.

    7. All other rules remain the same.

Let it be known that I myself, Kevin Williams do not think that the trucks in the state of Florida have the problems that others might think. I for one feel like the problem in Florida is the economy. We have few jobs left relating to construction and 75% of the racers that I know do construction work. With that said, the rule changes in the truck series were changed to open a window for the racer who cannot afford a $2,700.00 transmission from a well-known builder or a $800.00 torque converter, but have access to a multi disc clutch and a 3 speed standard transmission. For these parts are readily available as they are run in numerous other classes across the country. For those who don’t think that the automatic will run with a standard you need to call TCI. Thanks to all who are ready to move to the future and not live in the past.
